The Pros And Cons Of All Of Your Different Airport Transportation Options

Posted on

If you are going to need transportation to and from the airport soon, then you might be exploring your different airport transportation options. There are pros and cons to each type of airport transportation, so you should consider these pros and cons so you can make the right choice.

Getting a Ride from a Friend

First of all, many people choose to have a family member or friend give them a ride to and from the airport. You may find this more fun than using some other mode of transportation, and your loved one might not charge you — or might only ask you to cover the cost of gas — for your ride. However, you do have to worry about finding someone who is available, which can be especially tough if you have a really late or really early flight. Additionally, you might be worried about impacting your loved one's schedule.

Taking a Taxi

Of course, at many airports, you do have the option to take a taxi. This is convenient since you can typically either arrange for a taxi beforehand or get in one when you arrive at the airport. Additionally, you might like the idea that you will be able to ride by yourself. However, this is one of the more expensive methods of airport transportation that you can take.

Using a Rideshare Service

Using a rideshare service is very popular nowadays, but you do have to worry about whether or not you'll have a signal on your smartphone. You also have to worry about downloading and using an app. In some cases, rideshare services can be a bit expensive.

Using an Airport Shuttle

Airport shuttles are often considered to be one of the best methods of airport transportation. They typically offer a lot of different stops in various popular places in the area, and they're often one of the most affordable methods of transportation that you can use when leaving the airport.

Taking a Hotel Shuttle

In addition to airport shuttles, there are also often hotel shuttles that you can take. If the hotel that you are staying at offers a shuttle to and from the airport, then you may want to use it, since this service is often free. Only people who are staying at your hotel will be able to use the shuttle, so it might not be as crowded as some other shuttles and buses. Unfortunately, though, you won't be able to stop anywhere but your hotel when you leave the airport, and scheduling might be very limited.
